Chancel Renovation Project

We have completed and dedicated our renovated chancel area. Praise God for its completion and praise the Lord for everyone who contributed funds, time and expertise.

To make the chancel and choir area safer, we renovated it to be on one level, re-oriented the choir to face out toward the congregation and moved the piano and organ inside the communion rail with the musician facing the choir. The knee wall in front of the choir, the rostrum and the audio/visual equipment cabinet are moveable enhancing flexibility in the chancel.

Altogether we spent $19,425 on the project. We received enough donations from our Greenwood Church Family to cover all expenses, with some left over for “tweaking” as time goes by. Praise the Lord!

Food Donation Connection

Greenwood continues to help feed the hungry in Glen Allen through our distribution of free food every Friday at 6 p.m.

Food is collected from participating restaurants by church members. The January pick up rotation schedule is posted in the narthex and available online here.

Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth. - Psalm 46:10 (NRSV)

Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as you ever can.  - Attributed to Methodist Founder John Wesley

As the people of God, we are called to develop our faith through the understanding of God’s love and to be a church dedicated to prayer.

We believe that Christ is calling us to serve by being present and welcoming to all, regardless of ethnic, cultural or economic background.

God calls us to give our time, talent and monetary resources to proclaim effectively the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
