Greenwood's After School Ministry

After lots of heat and ample rain, summer has zipped by. The Greenwood After School Program is preparing for another great run, possibly even eclipsing last year's most successful year ever.

Amy, Lori, and Porter will all be returning for another year. So this year's snack time, birthday parties, structured homework / reading time, outdoor and indoor games, Fun Fridays, and Special Events should be better than ever. Pastor Barbara will be hosting and teaching another great set of lessons and activities in the sanctuary during our Chapel Time.

The Greenwood After School Program appreciates your continued prayers and support, and we ask that you would please drop by at any time.

Program director Adamarye Patteson said: “Please keep our program in your prayers.  If you would like to volunteer in any way, such as helping with homework, reading to the children or doing a craft please give one of our teachers a call. They would appreciate anything you could do. Just remember this is an outreach for our church.”

Vision

The Greenwood UMC After School program is an extension of Greenwood United Methodist Church's ministry to children and their families, providing an atmosphere of love and acceptance in which each child can develop socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually and intellectually.

The people of Greenwood UMC welcome children of any race, religious belief or national heritage regardless of their ability to pay for such care. Special needs children are accepted based on the program's ability to meet their unique and individual requirements.

Mission

The Greenwood UMC After School program’s mission is to serve the needs of all families by providing a safe and supportive Christian environment in which preschool and school aged children can be exposed to the teachings of Christ, develop positive attitudes toward themselves and others, and learn skills that will best equip them for their further educational opportunities

Tuition

The cost for our After School program has been raised to $60 per week, with a one time $50 start up fee.

To request an application package, please click here, or call  the church office at 804-266-5341.
