On May 3, 1874, the first meeting of Greenwood United
Methodist Church took place under an arbor located at
the current corner of Greenwood and Francis Roads.
On May 18, 2025, as Greenwood turns 151 years old we will
celebrate our sesquicentennial with Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson
preaching in worship, a potluck luncheon with musical
entertainment, and a closing ceremony. If you’d like to attend, we’d
love to have you. These events are free and open to the public, but
reservations are recommended for planning purposes.

Greenwood UMC has a birthday coming up!

Our Mission Statement

The Mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus
Christ for the transformation of the world. At Greenwood we live into this
mission seeking to more:
â–ª Loving - Of God, our neighbors, and ourselves
â–ª Growing - in our discipleship through spiritual formation
â–ª Serving - our local community and people around the world
We believe the journey of faith is lifelong and we know that we need to
participate in the Body of Christ as much as we need the other members
to achieve this mission.
